On Saturday, October 21, Adam will perform a new work, entitled The Uncertainty Principle, a new solo comedy about sex, God, OCD, quantum physics, and the fundamental uncertainty of everything. Adam won the New York Fringe Festival’s Overall Excellence Award and the Leffe Beer International Craft Your Character Storytelling Competition. He’s lost too many things to mention here.
Next Stage Arts Project is thrilled to bring back Adam Strauss for two shows October 20 and 21, 2017. Adam will reprise the hilarious, harrowing and heartrending show THE MUSHROOM CURE on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 7:30pm.  It is the True Tale of One Man’s Attempt to Cure OCD with Psychedelics, and wowed the sold out audience last year at Next Stage.

Inspired by a scientific study showing that hallucinogenic mushrooms may cure obsessive-compulsive disorder, Adam Strauss embarked on a program of vigilante psychopharmacology. The New York Times says The Mushroom Cure, Adam’s true tale of his attempt to treat his severe OCD with psychedelics, “mines a great deal of laughter from disabling pain” and Time Out New York calls it “riveting… a true-life tour de force” and named it a Critics’ Pick. After a sold-out, off-Broadway run, The Mushroom Cure is currently having its west coast premiere at The Marsh in San Francisco through June 3rd.

This unique theatrical experience, starring Adam Strauss and directed by Jonathan Libman, first ran in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, garnering widespread acclaim before being workshopped in the New York Fringe Festival, where The New York Times said it “mines a great deal of laughter from disabling pain” and Time Out New York called it “riveting… a true-life tour de force” and named it a Critics’ Pick. The piece also won it won the Fringe’s Overall Excellence Award for Solo Performance.  The Mushroom Cure has also been presented at NY’s Cherry Lane Theater and the Broadway Comedy Club.

Tickets are $20 for each show, $24 at the door, available, online at The newly-renovated, accessible Next Stage is located at 15 Kimball Hill, Putney, VT.
